Penny has been with Practice Plus Group Surgical Centre, Portsmouth since its opening in December 2005. Initially she was the Lead Nurse for the Minor Injury/Minor Illness Unit until 2009 when she became Hospital Director, responsible for all services at Practice Plus Group Diagnostics, Havant.
Previously, Penny was a Nursing Sister in the local Emergency department but has varied NHS experience as an Operational Manager and Senior Nurse for Orthopaedics and General Surgery.
In August 2014 she became Hospital Director for the Practice Plus Group Urgent Treatment Centre, Southampton.
There are approximately 190 employees working across the 3 sites and Penny’s role is to support the smooth and successful running of all services.
Dr David Hett qualified from Guys Hospital Medical School in 1982. He spent over thirty years in the Royal Navy where he practised medicine in a wide range of environments, and during which time he accredited as a consultant anaesthetist.
Dr Hett joined Practice Plus Group Surgical Centre, St Mary’s Portsmouth in 2007, where he has since become the hospital’s medical director. He has authored and co-authored a number of papers in international peer-reviewed journals and has presented numerous papers at national conferences.
Deb joined Practice Plus Group in April 2010 as the service manager for Brighton Station Health Centre.
In May 2012 she took up her current role of operations manager which now covers three sites: Practice Plus Group Urgent Treatment Centre, Portsmouth, Practice Plus Group Diagnostics, Havant and Practice Plus Group Urgent Treatment Centre, Southampton.
Deb’s role is to ensure the smooth running of all services, which includes outpatients and day surgery, diagnostics and the minor injury and minor illness service at Practice Plus Group Surgical Centre, Portsmouth centre and the Urgent Treatment Centre at Royal South Hants. In addition to her day-to-day responsibilities, she is also the lead for health and safety across the three sites.
Before joining Practice Plus Group, Deb managed a GP practice on the Isle of Wight. She has several years’ experience working within both primary and secondary care sectors. She has also worked for financial institutions and the Royal Navy as a contracts manager.
